About this facility:
In 2005, Dr. Robert Cestari's license to practice medicine in the state of New York was suspended for three years. Dr. Cestari did not contest the factual allegations of professional misconduct outlined in the State Board for Professional Medical Conduct's Consent Order. According to the order, Dr. Cestari 'failed to maintain and follow appropriate protocols related to termination of pregnancy, with respect to: 1) Dispensing medications prescribed in connection with medical abortions to patients; 2) Discharging of patients following surgical abortion procedures; and 3) Providing appropriate follow-up of patients with complications related to abortion procedures.' The suspension stemmed from Dr. Cestari's inappropriate treatment of abortion patients in 2001 and 2002. Dr. Cestari is associated with several abortion facilities, including Manhattan Women's.
